Pelatih PSS Sleman Mazola Junior menyebut keberhasilan timnya menaklukkan Persebaya Surabaya sebagai kemenangan penting untuk memulai putaran kedua Liga 1 Indonesia 2024/25.

 

Dikutip dari laman resmi klub, Minggu, Mazola menjelaskan kemenangan ini adalah bukti pembenahan PSS Sleman pada bursa transfer paruh musim mulai membuahkan hasil.

 

"Kemenangan dari Persebaya sangat penting bagi langkah awal PSS di putaran kedua ini. Kemenangan ini bukti kami terus melakukan pembenahan serta ini menjadi persembahkan kepada suporter PSS. Kami pantas mendapatkan kemenangan hari ini dari klub besar di Indonesia," jelas Mazola.

 

Pada pertandingan ini, PSS Sleman mengamankan kemenangan dengan skor 3-1 berkat gol dari Gustavo Tocantins, Cleberson Martins dan Nicolau Cardoso, meski Persebaya Surabaya sempat memperkecil ketertinggalan lewat eksekusi penalti Bruno Moreira.

Mengenai jalannya pertandingan, pelatih asal Brasil tersebut menjelaskan strategi yang PSS Sleman terapkan berjalan efektif dengan serangan-serangan yang lebih terorganisir ditambah pertahanan solid.

 

Pada babak kedua, Mazola menambahkan ia menginstruksikan para pemainnya untuk bermain lebih bertahan merespon pergantian pemain dari tim lawan dengan formasi lebih menyerang.

 

"Selamat buat para pemain atas kemenangan hari ini, perjuangan kalian sangat luar biasa. Persebaya mendapatkan kejutan hari ini melalui formasi permainan PSS," terang Mazola.

 

"Saya memberikan instruksi para pemain untuk bermain lebih bertahan dan ketika mendapatkan kesempatan langsung melakukan serangan balik. Demi menjaga stabilitas permainan, saya melakukan lima pergantian ketika masuk menit ke-60," pungkasnya.

 

Berkat kemenangan ini, PSS Sleman naik ke peringkat ke-13 klasemen sementara Liga 1 Indonesia dengan 18 poin dari 18 pertandingan, berjarak enam poin dari zona degradasi.
